Best Customer Service Email from Amazon on My Pending Kindle

This might be the best customer service response email I’ve ever received. It’s not really the kind of thing I would normally blog, but it was so entertaining I had to share it. I wrote to Amazon to ask them if the Kindle 2 rumors are true (full disclosure: I have a pending order in for a Kindle and I don’t want the old one if the new one is coming out) and here is what they had to say:

We’ve made no announcement about the next generation Kindle, so I can’t answer your question. However, If I were you I would not cancel my order, and I suspect you’ll be happy. If you need further assistance, please contact customer support at 1-866-321-8851.

As a reminder, the Kindle now has over 210,000 books, magazines, and blogs available for wireless delivery, with no computer required.

I hope this means that the Kindle 2 is on its way.

  1. you should have an affiliate link to amazon. I took the plunge on the Kindle because of your post. I've been waiting for the NextGen. Sounds like everyone in the queue will get the Kindle 2.0! Maybe I'm crazy.

  2. hi Charles, I meant set up an Amazon Associates account and a Commission
Junction account. i'm not sure what your traffic is, but 10% revenue sharing
off the Amazon Kindle I bought because I saw it on your site, would be $35
right there. Small stuff but you write such a great blog that I think it's
worth the easy step to pay yourself a little.

  3. Scott,

That's a good tip – I have an Amazon Associates account and I'll start using
it more. No reason not to offset some of my gadget and book purchases with
    some support from readers.
