Sony Ercisson t68i

Yes, I know that the first two handsets reviewed on my site are Sony Ericsson offerings. Please bear with me — this will change over time. I am working through my CTIA backlog and want to address as much as I can.

I am a *huge* fan of the Sony Ericsson t68i. I am currently using this phone as a supplement to my work phone and have a number of pros and cons that I would like to point out to the interested observer:

There are a lot of really great things about the t68i, several of which I have listed below:

-Talk time approaching 7 hours
-Integrated support for Bluetooth and IR
-Support for synchronization with Outlook
-Color display
-Joystick UI for easy navigation
-Extremely lightweight phone that fits comfortably in shirt pocket
-Reasonably good standard headset
-Easy to use SMS, even for U.S. customers

Nonetheless, there are a few notable drawbacks regarding this phone:
-Because it’s Sony Ericsson, there are a limited number of 3rd party accessories
-For U.S. customers, GSM only feature means that you will experience notable coverage gaps.
-The phone does have a habit of generating a fair amount of echo and dead air for some customers
-I have heard several customers complain about antenna strength

Overall, I believe that this is one of the best handsets available for someone with an interest in a GSM handset from AT&T Wireless. It is small, light, and offers a lot of features for the price.
